Research Questions & Information:
~ Is Lawrence V. Ausley (b. 1908 in Virginia) the son of Lonnie C. and Amanda Ausley Maynor ....and the adopted son of Amanda's brother & wife, William B. and Victoria Ausley?

~ "Family history" stories have been told through the years that Lonnie Maynor died in the major flu epidemic of 1918/1919 in Virginia -- he is listed in the Durham NC City Directory for 1911-12. Family stories said that their son, Vernon, "might" have been adopted by a Bagley family, however, I believe it was by an Ausley relative (see below). Amanda Ausley Maynor is not listed as a survivor in her father's 1911 obituary, so I am assuming she died prior to 9/12/1911.

~ William B. and Victoria Ausley are listed in the 1910 Federal Census as having "no children." Lawrence Vernon would have been about 2 years old in 1910. Then in the 1920 Census, Vernon is listed as age 12 and their son.

"Assumptions" are noted in red. Name Spellings (variants): Ausley, Ausly, Ansley, Aushley, Ausby, Awsley, Osley, Ousley, and Ozley
